For or against electoral college existence?

I'm against, because the system just seems stupid to me. People should be elected by popular vote.

You know why we don't have direct democracy right? Because the founding fathers didn't trust the people.

The founding fathers were afraid of someone being elected directly into Presidency. They were afraid a tyrant could manipulate public opinion enough to come to that sort of power. That's why it was created.

Now how about we stick to the topic?

The same could be said to an influential tyrant influencing the electoral voters.

That's not what this topic is about.

You know what Switzerland (the only direct democracy on Earth) thinks about direct democracy? It's annoying as hell because you spend all your free time voting.

I am against it because some voices won't be considered.

Personally, I think the only things we should vote for are government offices and state laws.
