Playing as Egypt is Possible in ETW

In ETW, Mamelukes are an "emergent faction". Yet they emerge in Iraq? WTF? lol. When were the Mamelukes in Iraq? They were always in Egypt.

Nonetheless, this is great news for myself. !!

With a bit of modding. You could make Cairo their capital. And make them emerge from their (historically correct) and would therefore make them a playbale faction. And as a final touch I could rename Memlukes as "Egypt". (Not needed though since every educated person knows that Memlukes = Egypt)

I gotta say. This made me happy. Espicially since it's currently impossible to map/add nations to the game. But it's already there so all you need to do is move their location.

Heh! Turns out that there was a Memluk dynasty that ruled in Iraq for like 50 years. Yet CA ignores the one that ruled Egypt for centuries till 1811...Genius...

Nonetheless it doesn't change anything. Memlukes did rule in Egypt at that time. That is why in Napolean Total War, you could play as them in the Egypt campaign.

No. It's impossible to make a mod for ETW (people still didn't find a way to edit data). But you could mod (edit) the game.

Memlukes ARE already a faction in the game . If you want to play as them then you edit the files using the program in the link that I posted. This would make Memlukes playable, able to change their capital (Cairo), and even rename them (Egypt).

Maybe I'm not sure. They might. But the game recognizes them as a unique nation so they might have unique units to themselves.

But what I really want to see is playing as Egypt in the game. Should be epic since you'll then have Egypt, Ottomans, Morrocco and Mughal, Muslim nations on the map

Well I know. But it's all historically good. Mamluks emerge later on, so if you ever play a game with them, then you'll be starting the game at a later date (which you could also edit).

The Memlukes do exist in Cairo, they can emerge in both Egypt and Iraq in the grand campaign. Some nations can emerge in multiple regions here is a list:

Just download the mod. Doesn't take that long since it's not a complete mod. It's just an edit mod (unlocks all factions).

dude im telling you, you cna't play as them without modding and stuff ... they will be a nonplayable faction ... in fact there are only like8 playbale factions and the 25+ that are left are nonplayable ..
