Are Egyptians URM? (For Flame)

They had a heated discussion about whether an Egyptian could check the URM (Under represented Minority) box of "African American" or not...it was concluded that we should not:

FML!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I needed the help. I thought URM was decided by country rather than by race. FML!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.: The OP of that topic reminded me a bit of myself...at school (freshman year) I used to put "African American". Then I started putting "Other". Now finally I put "White" after having read the US Census classifications. Heh.

The best I could get is a diversity point T_T . Not an AA or URM one T_T.

Yes they do. But that doesn't make a difference lol. Only Hispanics, blacks, and American Indians are URM T_T

I just emailed College Board asking them about it. I have no idea if I'll get an answer back, but we can hope,right?

My point, flame, is that no college will go against the US Census.

Just because you didn't get into Harvard doesn't mean it doesn't accept Egyptians as URM. Some kid emailed them and they said yes and I'm emailing them currently.

First of all, I don't know if I did or didn't get in...they didn't give me their decision yet (P.S.: I am 100% sure I don't want it or any ivy. I want St. John's 6 year Doctor of Pharmacy program...later on you too will grow out of the ivy complex mentality )

Anyways.....

Have some sense and think about this. The US government considers the Middle East, North Africa and Europe to be White. So why would a college in the USA say otherwise?

Not like I want to be a pharmacist lol. I want to go to a med school.

And it isn't an Ivy Complex so much that it's my dream school.

Great! You don't need to go to an ivy to go to med. Neither does going to an ivy school help you go into med school. That's the truth

I have no problems with dream schools, but you make it seem like you are willing to die for it.

Ivies actually do help you get into med schools. The more prestigious the likelier you will get in. A 4.0 in Yale is worth more than a 4.0 in NYU.

As a High School senior who spent months reading all stuff like that, I assure you that it doesn't help you at all. If it does it's very little for example:

A 4.0 in an Ivy and a 4.0 in a regular...in that case they would take the ivy person.
A 3.7 in ivy and 4.0 in regular...they would take regular.
A 4.0 in ivy with no research and a 4.0 in normal with research...will take normal.

And I'm talking about GPA.

Trust me...it doesn't mean a whole lot. It's mainly your MCAT and GPA that'll get you in.
