    what the pharmacist said Empty what the pharmacist said

    Post by Ahmed Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:00 pm

    When I went to the pharmacy today I asked the pharmacist to what college I should go for pre-med. This was how it went:

    A=Me
    P=Pharmacist

    P: Go to Hunter
    A: But isn't it bad since it doesn't have a well known reputation?
    P: Hunter is good. Its free. Why would you want to waste money on the garbage years of college? Med school is what mattters and what you'll probably be in debt for.
    A: But doesn't going to a top/well known uni help you get into med school?
    P: Nope, all that matters is your MCAT score and GPA in your college.
    A: Are you sure? Could you give me an example?
    P: My sisters daughter went to hunter and now she's is in Columbia Uni (The ivy league) for med school.

    And he told me some other stuff but I think that's good enough.

    What he said makes perfect sense. But I know Ill start debating it in a couple of days. Opinions...comments?

    It's not confusing, it's just a different system.

    First 4 years if uni is undergrad. That's when you take pre-med for example. Then you take the MCAT test and if you do well you go to a med school

    Im looking at my school's senior acceptance rates to the different colleges

    Surprisingly Harvard accepted the most people (22%) from the people that applied from my school.

    Columbia was the hardest (4%)

    Yale was (14%)

    you know Silence i talked about you with my mother (cardiac nurse) and she said you should look into botany and herbal medicines as well. She also said you should become a doctor and not a pharmacist, but we all know you have your heart set on that.
