    The British English is, as claimed, the proper English...there is nothing in the language which merits nothing on the negative side.

    listen buddy...the meter to metre differnce, etc....are just part of the language. The american English is designed to make it easy for speakers

    anyways the American English has changed overtime due to cultural merging, where as England witch received few immigrants preserved the old English. Are for the airplane vs aeroplane debate, seeing as the wright brothers (Americans) invented the device it is American english that is correct.
