Re: "Arab autocracy"
you know if democracy takes hold in the Muslim world the religion may lose power to the government. Also the USA is on the cutting edge of weapons tech, we are one of the most powerful forces in the world with powerful allies. Egypt is in no way cutting edge nor do they poses the ability to modernize there armories due to poor management.

Re: "Arab autocracy"
Democracy is for the dimwitted because that's exactly the masses. They don't have knowledge about political affairs and the great many that do vote aren't even well aware of the person they vote for, just the party and even then they lack the insight required to run a good democracy. Pure democracy will only work with a small group of people. Representative democracy results in a people who are always unhappy.

The masses aren't "dimwitted, my brother. Democracy in essence is compromise and diplomacy. Its the ability to negotiate, to settle on the lesser of the two evils, so to speak. Its the combined support of the majority, along with the political intellect and the ability to manipulate the elite which lets one govern. Unhappy, maybe. Controlled and orderly...most of the time

Re: "Arab autocracy"
Ahmed: You can't educate the people who don't want to be educated. As you can see in America, it's mostly foreigners and the poor who take advantage of school. Most Americans who have a stable income have children who don't give a damn and will end up in life as idiots because they never cared.
Maybe orderly, but not controlled at all. There is civil hatred all around and large groups face each other. In a democracy, it's the idiots with the loudest voice.Controlled and orderly...most of the time

Re: "Arab autocracy"
what I mean by controlled was that its not "war" every time some thing opposing happens...its a campaign, its a protest or a rally. I slightly disagree that its only the idiots. The idiots do seem to get the most spotlight but they sure are not the only ones speaking up...
