Ivy League or Not?

Today I was at the school library with Smexy. Anyways, I was on the computer there and looking for my chances of going into Ivy leagues. I realized that my accumulative grade since freshmen year till now was just about 2 points away from the average Ivy League student accumulative average. So I was: . Apparently this senor kid sitting next to us was listening to our talk the whole entire time. He asked me if I was a senor and I said no. Then he told me "Colombia Uni. will accept you with that grade. My friend was in this school and she had an 89 accumulative average and she got into Colombia. So don't lower your standards!"". I was confused and asked him "how if the score is a 95 for most Ivy Leagues". Then he told me that since you go to this school, your average has more value than those averages from other highschools. So I said "Cool! But how about SAT?" .He said you need a 2100...so I need to retake it >.< . But anyways he told me at the end.

But why would you go to a Uni that will take lots of money form you for your undergrad years?

SO ti has been making me thinking...why am I going to a Uni that'll take lots of money for my undergrad years? What do you guys advise?

IVY LEAGUE.
The better of a college you can get into, the happier a life you will live. I'm shooting for Case Western Uni (quite expensive law school).

i'm not sure about da education system in da U.S but going to one of da top Universities will give u an advantage over other ppl when applying for jobs n stuff.. u'll be employed in a tick

Ahmed i think the question you need to ask yourself is exactly where do you stand now and where do you want to be. Big decisions like this you need to way all of the possibility's and there consequences to know whats best.

I'm talking about the money side of it. I specialize when Im a grad. The undergrad college is just the first 4 years.

Ivy league will look better when getting a job, but it is really expensive so it depends if you can afford it or not. There is also scholarships.

@Gaz: You don't get a job after your undergrad years Gaz (First 4 years of college). You specialize to w/e you want to do in life after those 4 years. Most people switch colleges between the undergrad and grad years.

i always thought if you're going to a professional school afterward (such as med)ivys don't matter as much ... but they may also be inclined to admit ivy grads over you

I could get in iA. But you also need to keep in mind if you are wasting your money or not.

if you can get in then its clear you can get a scholarship and find ways to pay it off

Why can't I go to a Pharm school from the start though? Wouldn't that make more sense?

no it still takes 6 years ... total ... except you're pretty much guaranteed a seat in the actual pharm school ... besides i dont think you have to take the PCAT like in the 2+4 program ... and it has no where near the competition as 2+4

Wait if it is 6 years does that mean that pharmacy is 2 years (4 years are undergrad)??
