there may have been 6 battles but when i refer to battles by number it's only the battles I acknowledge as important. It's kind of a bad habit...

| IN TERMS OF MILITARY GENIUS
1-Muslim Conquerors (With Khalid Ibn Walid being the first) 2-Alexander 3-Napoleon 4-Hitler
(I had a hard time choosing between Napoleon and Hitler for 3rd place) Agree?

| Hitlers armies were crushed in the end and he failed, I dont think he should be on their. Your missing the Khans. I still don't consider the elected Muslim leader as above Alexander, seeing as they had faith to control concord people, a luxury Alexander didn't have. | |

| Hitler almost conquered Europe. He is certainly a military genius. Napoleon also lost battles (Egypt and Russia) but is still considered a military genius.
Yes. The Asian hordes should be after Alexander for the sole reason that Alex conquered civilizations, while the hordes conquered unadvanced people.
No one forced them to convert.

| Actually, Alexander did have that. Macedonia and Greece had the same belief system.
And also, Khalid didn't control the armies based on religion so it doesn't even matter.

| I agree, the initial victories of the Muslims and the Prophet (saw) were divine ... prophecies of the conquests of Persia, the Byzantines, and Yemen were already made ... which is why I think they deserve their own spot, just like the victories of Moses (as) ...
Alexander was driven by the hate of the Persian which united the Greeks ... they only rebelled at the end when they *lost* ... beating a broken down Persian empire with superior forces isn't too impressive to me, especially when your dad is responsible for it ...

| Cyrus Was a great leader, but his actions were to far in the past! Can anyone say with certainty that they really know anything about him? His actions built the foundation for greater men, but in the end he is still only a stepping stone in my eyes. | |

| are you kidding? there are more legends surrounding alexander than there are surrounding cyrus! he's even mentioned in the bible as a messiah
nothing about alexander was written until 200 after these events passed
I consider his campaigns and accomplishments greater than Alexanders ... who simply followed the reverse route ... Alexander is still in my top 7 but you probably don't even have Khalid (ra) in your top 10 ... not like I expect you to understand the magnitude of his victories and how he completely changed the course of warfare

| No that was Justinan
Either way Khalid (ra) beats them all .... while westerners fantasize about their gay greek hero beating a declining persian empire (they had freakin wooden shields in comparison to greek bronze armor and shields) lead by a coward king who ran away even before the battles began they fail to recognize the person who conquered the 2 most powerful empires while being out-manned and outgunned ... and the macedonians record in India is suspect to say the least but obvious of defeat if evaluated objectively ...

You know Your severely under rating the Persian army! the Persian Army was at the very least 3 times the size of Alexanders and had picked the spot for their final confrontation to be the best possible terrain they could hope for to use their chariots, Which because of the large blades sticking out of the wheels could effortlessly chop a man or horse away from it's legs. The battle is accounted in the works of Arrian. You could say with the terrain advantage of their chariots Alexander was out maned and out gunned as well. Of course Alexander HIMSELF lead the charge on the Persian King who in his panic flied leaving all his riches, armies, and Family. Of course When Alexander found Darius murdered on the side of the road he took him up in his own cloak and had his murderers executed. BTW on a trip to Egypt he visited a well known temple and after arriving was Greeted as the Embodiment of a god.

| Preid, are you an idiot? Do you not realize that the Egyptians only did that because they figured it was easier to let him build a city for them rather than fight? | |

Are YOU an idiot? There is no historic text to suggest this, yet plenty of evidence that Alexander was welcomed by the Egyptians. They willingly accepted his rule and notably at the temple of Amon-Ra, the King of the gods, He was greeted as the earthly vessel of the god.
