| Good luck bro!
Do you happen to know the Med specializations that have the least stress (less work)? I'll look into those.
Surgeons for example are the most stressed out.

| There's been a study that finds that the pursuit of happiness generally leads to being unhappy.
But uh, you do realize as long as you take the required courses, it doesn't matter what your BS or BA is, right?

| You don't have to become a specialist ... in fact they're predicting a shortage of "regular" docs cuz everyone wants to be a specialist ... | |

| In terms of stress...pharm is the way to go. Very flexible hours and you could take breaks.
In general for med its a rigid schedule of 60-70 hours of work per week.
it all simplifies down to whether you "work to live" or "live to work"...
Doctors have more money, bigger prestige Pharmacists have a better life.
Im tried of thinking about this -____-

| lol go to sleep you noob
basically my summary regarding "stress"
education wise pharm: moderately tough for undergrad (keep around a 3.5 and you're fine, I'm in with a 3.4) ... dunno about professional school but its easier than med school ... PCAT is easier but is retarded so watchout lol ... doc: pretty tough for undergrad (you need A's and only a handful are given out, need like 3.7-3.8+) ... med school is harder than undergrad will ever be ... and harder than pharm school ... google usmle step 1 if you dont believe how crazy it gets ... MCAT is hardest undergrad exam by far ...
job pharm: can be stressful but more flexible and lets face it, its not that hard in terms of difficulty .. still u cant screw up dude ... pay is like half as much, maybe even less but who cares? 100k average is good freakin enough!
doc: generally more stressful, tougher, more demanding but the pay is well you know lol ... some residencies might be easier but expect them to be way more competitive ..
but the worst thing about pharm is that freakin GIRLS outnumber guys in the field it looks like, GTFO with that lool
but prestige and pay and perceived level of importance is where doc >>> pharm
doc is doc man in that regard man, no comparison

getting in is not the problem.. its wat u do there. Med students work 100 hours a week man (in the UK at least).. hmmmm WHY Medicine is my question. I guess pharmacy wins the less stress due to long hours part.
+ better pay + RESPECT + you get to save ppl's lives + doctors don't actually have a lot of working hours when it comes to the job itself (70 hrs a week).. buh med skl is a lot of work i guess a BIG -ve part of it is that ur gonna be taking exams till ur late 30s lol just do wat ur more interested in man, wanna help ppl & save lives n stuff.. do med wanna sell drugs then be a pharmacist..

| +Isn't 100k (initially) very good for pharm? +No one said that pharmacists are disrespectful people. Respect is self achieved and not gotten by the job that are in. I have better respect for a mechanic who does his job than a rude doctor. +You save peoples lives by giving them medicine. That "savior" status that doctors have is for the most part overrated. + 70-80 hours a week isn't a lot???! Lol
Both are health professionals who work to "save peoples lives". The difference is that doctors are trained to diagnose, while Pharmacists are drug experts.

| You know a good analogy between a doctor and pharmacist that I've heard is that of a Muhaddith (hadith scholar) and a Faqeeh (scholar of Fiqh) Muhaddith is like the pharmacist as he "supplies" and records hadiths while a Faqeeh knows how to use them, like a doc don't remember how exactly it went but it was somethin like that | |

| "stop shooting down everyone who is trying to help you"
Apparently you don't understand. I'm not shooting down anything. Obviously as I have made it clear I like some things on both sides and I dislike some things on both sides. So when you say something I counter it to see if you know anything that I don't know, from your response back.
"be a man and make a decision."
I never told you to make my decision. Nor did anyone besides me ever make a decision in my life. This topic is to help make me more aware from anything that I don't possibly know.

| Dude, it's not that hard to decide. Just do MD and put the work into it. Stop being lazy goddam. Also, EVERY MD specializes. There's no "general" thing...Even being like a family doctor or something is specializing.
It's a really simple decision. You vs Your family Prestige vs No real recognition (face it, no need to sugarcoat it for yourself you'll regret it later) Stress vs..less stress If family doctor...then most of the local people would know and respect you (provided your a good doctor) vs the dude behind the counter who noone really cares about
Really that's all it boils down to...is your personal success more important or your family?
