| I'm already half tempted to shout at anyone who responds to this. Life is so easy these days compared to the "simple" days of farm work or small communities. | |

| Life is hard in emotional terms. In physical terms we really aren't labored. | |

| No it's not. You should have lived 1000 years ago so you wouldn't be complaining... | |

| I think its human nature to feel your best effort means life is hard.
As for it being hard emotionally, well people are soft and fleshy. It doesn't make much for people to be traumatised...
I think people have got more sheltered and easier to distress over years too, look at pre-industrialisation, mothers would often have 10 children and only 2 or 3 would survive.

| Life is hard is kind of a matter of perception. Everyone loves sympathy so we start to believe our lives are hard but are they really? I mean could you look at someone who has been raped or lost family to war and compare your life's struggles to theirs? | |

Remember this was before midwifery, before hygienic conditions and child raising guidelines. Also a bad crop would mean less food for everyone, elderly people were valued higher too, they would eat first. anyway what im saying is its human nature to assume you got a hard life but untill you experience something worse you cant see how easy it actually is.
