| This debate is basically about whether books, or movies are better. Remember to not just go and say "l0l movys cuz books r hrd 2 reed". Give a good reason that makes sense! Also, no flaming, yes you can argue about how one is better than the other, but no saying "l0l u stoopid cuz u lyke books go dye", because that is against the rules. I will come back later and post what I think after this topic gets rolling. So... yea. | |

| I say books are better because they are often more detailed then their movie counter-parts. For example look at the Harry Potter series, the books are waaaay more detailed than the movies . | |

| I don't wanna wait for more posts. I would say books because you can sit back and relax while reading, and it's not just like a 2 hour thing either, you can read some in one day, read some more the next day, therefore books can last longer. | |

| Hello everyone
I would also agree with what seems to be an ananimous (probably wrong spelling) opinion that books are better than movies. Books provide in detail explanation of the characters and the plot, while movies summarize the main ideas, often skipping the lesser important but fun parts (like in the Harry Potter movies). Books also include all those literary elements, which are some what less obvious or absent from the movies.

| i think that books are more interesting and you can read anywhere (train, car) not just sit there and watch tv like a couch potato. But books that turn into mivies usually turn out worse because a movie is not as detailed. butmovies can also be fun and entertaining as well | |

| I watch more movies than books.
I like visuals, although don't mind reading when I do, I don't have enough motivation to be avid.

butmovies can also be fun and entertaining as well Though I am for books being better, I am rebutting your T.V./Movies = Couch Potato statement. What I'd like to say is that it's not like reading a book gets you any more active than watching a movie does, an avid book reader can be a couch potato as well.

| I like visuals a lot, but books are always more complete than movies.
For example, in movies, they sometimes cut out conclusions and endings, which changes the whole idea of the book it's re-making.

| Books better.. for seeing a movie you need to see it on a heavy screen, books are light. You can read books in any positon oyu want, and you can imagine te book in your mind, book is more detailed, and its mroe easy to damaage a movie than a book. Movies are also fantastic tough. | |
